How do I buy an image from Jantoo?

It's super simple. Register with us and top-up your account with some pre-paid credits using a credit card or PayPal. When you find an image you want to use, add it to your cart. Select whether you want to use the image digitally i.e. a Web License, or on a hard copy i.e. a Print License. When you have finished shopping click 'Checkout' and you will see the cost in credits. These will be deducted from your account after you have pressed the 'confirm' button. If you do not have enough credits left you will be given the option to buy more.

Where is my image?

If you have successfully bought an image using our checkout system you should be taken to a link where you can right-click and download your image. You'll also receive an email with your image attached in .jpg format.

Can I re-download the image I have bought?

Of course. When you buy an image we will also send you an email with your image attached in .jpg format.

What's a Vector image?

A vector image is an image comprising a series of points with lines joining the points to create shapes and illustrations. These points and lines are plotted in specific coordinates using data stored within the file. The file type for our Vector images are '.eps' files.

Why choose a Vector?

As vectors are basically instructions on how to show an image, vectors tend to have a smaller file size than other image formats.

Unlike other image formats, vector images can be resized without losing any image quality. Also changing the scale of a vector image has minimal impact on the file size. Vectors can also be extensively edited by users providing they are using suitable vector editing software, such as Adobe Illustrator.

What is the difference between a Web License, a Print License and a Vector?

When you are buying an image from us, the license is the same for all types of images (see the full licensing terms), however, the only differences are the size and file type.

Both the Web version and Print version are in the .jpg file format. The Web version of the image is smaller as it is important digital images are small for faster downloading.

These images need to be bigger for better print quality; a digital image on screen is 72dpi (dots per inch) whereas a printed image is often 300dpi or more. So with this image, you will be able to get the best quality .jpg for printing.

As explained above, Vectors are in the .eps file format. Vector images have the highest possible image resolution and offer the ability to be resized to any size without any loss in image quality, as well as minimal change in file size.

What if I only want one image?

Our Instant Download option allows you to download image for a small one-time fee without the need to signup or commit to a credits bundle. However, if you plan to buy regularly then credits are the cheapest option and are just as quick once you've set up an account.

How can I change my password and other account information?

From your Account, on the right is the summary of all of the information you have entered. At the bottom is "Edit Profile" and this allows you to change any of the details you have entered.

I am a cartoonist/illustrator. How can I have my work featured on Jantoo?

We are happy to look at your work. Please send a small selection of 3-5 images for consideration to info@jantoo.com

When I buy an image will it have any watermarks or copyrights on it?

The Jantoo watermark you see when browsing the site will be removed, as will the catalog reference number and the Jantoo URL. Anything else on the image is what the cartoonist/illustrator intended and may well include the cartoonists signature. However, you are free to adapt the image to suit your needs so if you want to cut out bits or change the wording/color you can.

Can I use any of your images free of charge?

We would like to help out where we can, but we have agreements set in place with our cartoonists/illustrators. We don't have the rights to give away work done by our cartoonists/illustrators without the correct fee being paid.

Can I alter the image?

Yes. Once you have bought an image you are free to adapt the image to suit you needs.
